João Carinho
João Carinho (b. 2000) is a visual artist based in Porto. Drawing on local micro-histories, Carinho’s practice engages with ephemeral materials such as sea salt, aromatic herbs, and flowers to construct sensory narratives that question what is preserved and what is forgotten. His work fosters encounters between seemingly dissonant communities, including the caretakers of the Parish of Eiriz, Paços de Ferreira, Planeta Manas / Associação Cultural Mina, Lisbon, and WHOLE Festival, Leipzig.
